Paula Schöneberg, née Mendels, *14.7.1895 in Harsewinkel
Schürener Str. 46, Aplerbeck
The Schönebergs married on 24 June 1923 in Harsewinkel. Their first joint home as a married couple was at Dorfstr. 9 in Schüren, but they already moved in July 1923 to Schürener Strasse 46. Their son Ludwig Schöneberg was born there on 8 April 1924.
The family lived there until 19 July 1940, when the parents were forced to move to the “Jew house” at Lindenstr. 45 and the son to the “Jew house” at Westenhellweg 121.
All the members of the family were deported on 27 January 1942 to Riga, where David and Paula Schöneberg were murdered on 27 July 1944.
Son Ludwig survived the deportation, putting in his claims for compensation in the mid-1950s. At the time, he was living in New South Wales in Australia.
