Moritz and Jenny Nussbaum lived until 1941 at Holzhofstrasse 6, which was known from 1937 to 1945 as Herbert-Norkus-Strasse and is today called Geschwister-Scholl-Strasse.

Moritz Nussbaum was a dealer in manufactured goods. In the wake of the “Pogrom night”, he was detained at Steinwache police station from 12 to 17 November 1938. At the end of the same year, he deregistered his business.
In 1942, the Nussbaums had to go and live in the “Jew house” at Heckelbeckstrasse 1 in Kirchlinde.
On 30 July 1942, Moritz Nussbaum, together with his wife Jenny Nussbaum, was deported to Theresienstadt, where he was murdered on 12 May 1943. Jenny Nussbaum was transferred on 15 May 1944 to Auschwitz and murdered there.
