data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>On 28\/29 October 1938, the Hackers were expelled from the German Reich in the course of the so-called \u201cPolenaktion\u201d (\u201cPolish Action\u201d), whereby, in late October 1938, the Nazi regime had around 17,000 Polish Jews who were living in Germany taken by force to the border. The Hackers lived first of all in Zb\u0105szy\u0144 (Bentschen), where those persons were interned who had no family with whom they could live in Poland. Rosa and Abraham Hacker succeeded by roundabout ways in returning to their flat at Leopoldstrasse 54. There, they found that their home had been plundered in the \u201cPogrom night\u201d of 9 November 1938, and the whole of their personal belongings either stolen or destroyed.<\/p><p>Subsequently, they were forced to live in the collective accommodation in Parsevalstrasse, where Rosa Hacker died on 2 December 1941 at the age of 68.<\/p><p>Abraham Hacker was deported on 30 July 1942 from Dortmund to Theresienstadt and died there on 19 April 1943. He was 76 years old.<\/p><p>Their five children survived.
